Lincoln Kerger, ship's navigator, trains Quartermaster Seaman Dimitri Whitman during a fast cruise aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). A fast cruise consists of equipment tests, simulations, and scenarios which refresh and train Sailors for underway periods. Wasp is currently undergoing a planned incremental availability maintenance period at BAE Systems Naval Shipyard while making preparations for its upcoming homeport shift to Sasebo, Japan.
