In 1802, Andre-Jacques Garnerin ascended in his balloon from the Volunteer Ground in Grosvenor Square and made a parachute descent to a field near St Pancras. Two diagrams, The balloon which Mr Garnerin ascended from the volunteer's parade, North Audley Street, Grosvenor Square, to the height of 8, 000 feet, and the parachute by which he descended into a field, near St Pancras' Church, 21 Sept. 1802.
