Exploration vehicle. Computer artwork of a legged exploration vehicle being used on the surface of another world. Its design appears to be based on the jointed legs of insects and other arthropods. Legged vehicles can cope better with uneven terrain, but are generally not as fast as wheeled vehicles over flat terrain. Humans will usually require protection (such as this sealed vehicle) when exploring other worlds. The air supply will have to be carried with them, and heat will have to be supplied.
