Common hermit crab


Common hermit crab (Pagurus bernhardus), a member of the Paguridae family. These crabs are omnivorous opportunistic feeders inhabiting both rock and sandy areas. The common hermit crab is found throughout northern and western Europe but not in the Mediterranean. Photographed in West Wales, UK, in September.
