Wis., where he haslived since 1849, at which time he came as anemigrant from Norway and took the farm heis now living on as a homestead from theUnited States government His mothersmaiden name was Karen Marie was married to Mv. Ieterson in the oldcountry. This educationwas received in the university of entered the freshman class in the fall of1880, taking the ancient classical course, andgraduated in the fall of 1884, with the de-gree of A. B. While at the university hewas a member of the Hesperian debatingsociet} and was the leader of the debate forhis society in 1881. He was also a mem-ber of the Phi Kappa Psi
