Plant biotechnology researcher examining an analysis of proteins from Nepenthes alata, a carnivorous plant that is being genetically modified and studied for its digestive fluids. This research involves producing human recombinant proteins with medical applications, based on the natural proteins produced by carnivorous plants. The research has uncovered a way to inactivate the plant's digestive fluid to avoid enzymes destroying the recombinant proteins. This research is being carried out for PATsas, a French biotechnology company.
