The younger Clark was educated inthe district school, but while still in his minority he wasplaced in a banking house in New York City with the viewto starting him in a commercial career. It was while in thebank that he conceived the idea of becoming a studied after office hours and ])repared himself for apreparatory College Course under great difficulties. After a sjjecial course of lectures of the Long IslandCollege Hospital he graduated from Dartmouth Medical. BYRON G. CI-ARK. College in 1877, and located in Windsor, Vermont, return-ing to New York for a Post-Graduate Course in MateriaMedica at the New York Homoeopathic Medical was the first physician to practise homoeopathy inWindsor, Vt., and built up a large practice. The longrides necessary to do his work were so fatiguing that whenhe saw what seemed to be a good opportunity to go to NewYork he looked about for a good man to succeed him andlocated in Harlem in 1882. One of the older residents of\Vindsor remarked that Dr. Clark was the first man toleave town because of more work than he could do. Oneof the causes which has contributed to his success is thatnearly every year since he began practising he has taken aspecial Post-Graduate Course in some leading specialty,such as Ophthalmology or Surgical Diseases of Women.
