Practically every grower there confines himself and "Brown Globe," but which has been introduced into this country as "AUSTRALIAN ; f The AUSTRALIAN BROWN Onion is of medium size, wonderfully hard and solid and most attractive for market, both as to form and appearance. The illus- tration, taken from a photograph, fails adequately to show the handsome appearance of these beautiful onions. They are extremely early in ripening, and never make any stiffhecks or scallions. Every seed seems to produce a good-sized onion, and the bulb be- gins to form very quickly—when the plant is not over three inches high. Planted with the Red Wethersfield it proved to be nearly four weeks earlier, and ripened off more uniformly. It has the reputation of keeping indefinitely, and we think from its firmness and hard- ness that it will keep in good condition longer than any other onion known. The color of the skin is a clear amber-brown. So widely contrasted from any other onion is this color that it will be noticed on the market, and when once bought, purchasers will be most likely to return and call for those "beautiful brown ; These onions have been known to keep nearly a whole year in good condition, and on tnis and other ac- counts it will commend itseli to onion set growers, who often lose heavily in carrying their crop because the sets do not "; Large pkt., 5c; oz., 10c; *4 lb., 35c; lb., 90c. 40 NortHrup, King' (Si Co., Minneapolis, Minn,.
