Web-footed Gecko (Palmatogecko rangei) found in the coastal Namib Desert Namibia


Web-footed Gecko (Palmatogecko rangei). Nocturnal animals that live mostly nestled in deep burrows where some moisture are preserved during the day. Thin, spindly legs and large webbed feet are used to dig the burrows in the coastal Namib Desert. Webbed feet also aids in running over fine sand. Large, bulb-like dark brown and red eyes with vertical pupils, lack eyelids but are covered with a transparent scale, or spectacle, which is cleaned by periodic licking. Dist.
