Hill located on a farm atSpringville, Utah, where his son, , jun., attended the public schoolsuntil his graduation in 1900. He grad-uated from the high school of the Brig-ham Young University at Provo in1904, received the degree of B. S. fromthat university in 1907, obtained thedegree of B. S. A. from the Utah Agri-cultural College in 1908 and that ofPh. D. at Cornell University in 1912. 214 LATTER-DAY SAINT Bro. Hill was baptized when abouteig:ht years old and after serving inoffices of the Aaronic Priesthood wasordained an Elder, and later a Sev-enty to become a member of the 220th. Quorum of Seventy. He served as anofficer and teacher in the Y. M. M. and as a member of the generalboard of that organization from 1926to 1935. In Sunday school work heacted as chorister and also as a teach-er in the Springville 3rd and Logan5th wards, as Sunday school superin-tendent in the Logan 5th ward, asmember of the Sunday school boardsof the Salt Lake and Cache stakes, asmember of the general board of theDeseret Sunday School Union from1925, devoting much time to the prep-aration of lesson outlines, and in 1934was set apart as a member of the gen-eral superintendency of the L. D. schools. As an agriculturalist, Bro. Hills ac-tivities have been of great value to hisnative state. As a youth he engagedin farming, was instructor of agricul-ture and science in the L. D. S.
