In this engravingit will be seen that a heavily insulated cable lies on theground, this being provided temporarily to bring in the5000-volt current from a power station at Asnieres, in thenorthern part of the city, at present supplying the needs ofthe railway. The cables held in cleats are 550-volt supplywires passing up the inclined opening on the left to therailway tunnel, where connection is made to the third rail,by which power is delivered to the motors of the trains. Returning now to the other stations along the route,Figs. 11 and 12 show two typical views, Fig. 11 being thaton the through line from Vincennes to Porte Maillot.
