Car-da-fe in Valladolid, 1558; Spanish Inquisition. Auto-DA-FE (AutoDafe) in Valladolid, May 21 1558. Procession of approximately thirty by the Spanish Inquisition of death sentenced Protestants to a place outside the city where they are burned at the stake. In the middle a building with dignitaries, opposite a wooden gallery to which the heretics are convicted. The convicts carry special headgear (capilated) and cloak with a representation of the Hellemond. In the caption De Legenda 1-12 in Dutch.
