DiSalvo, chats with the medical staff comprised of members from various armed forces such as Colombia, Brazil and Canada at the Batey Cinco medical site during his visit to the Task Force Larimar troops working across different locations in Barahona, Dominican Republic on May 20. TF Larimar, the force behind Beyond the Horizon 2014 Training Exercise, is currently conducting engineering work at five different sites. Three of the sites will be medical clinics and the other two will be used as school partitions in the province of Barahona, Dominican Republic. This will provide local residents better opportunities to receive medical attention as well as education. Furthermore, free medical services including geriatrics, gynecologists, dentists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, pediatricians and pharmacists will be available throughout different sectors of Barahona as part of the BTH exercise. This is a joint humanitarian training exercise sponsored by Southern Command and Army South. This type of exercise often promotes a stronger and long lasting partnership between countries.
