Young Samburu men bleed the neck of a cow for blood which they drink as part of their diet Samburu National Reserve Kenya East Africa One man is collecting the blood in a traditional leather gourd They have bare torsos and are in traditional dress with a red cotton wrap around their waists and lower body They have bracelets and bead decorations One has two strings of beads crossed over on his chest These signify that he is a Moran or warrior Such beads cannot be worn by men in other age sets or groups They all look slim vigorous healthy and fit An older man is standing on the left carrying holding a bow and a bunch of arrows
