The north and south arches have a large edge rollbetween the orders on the faces towards the crossing,but are otherwise plain, and the west arch, which iscompletely renewed on the west face, has a roll to theinner order on both faces, and on the outer order adiaper of two rows of four-leaved flowers on the westside, with a billet label. The abaci continue as strings to the north andsouth walls, and beneath them runs a band of mosteffective ornament, consisting of a series of spiral coilsbranching off on either side of a chequered Plan of Kingsclerb Church The south arcade of the chancel is of three bayswith piers composed of four engaged round shaftshaving moulded bases and capitals. The arches aretwo-centred and have two hollow-chamfered orders. The east388b and two south windows of the southchapel have each three cinquefoiled lights under afour-centred arch with a moulded label of late 15th-century date, and near the west end of the southwall is a late 13th-century doorway with doublechamfered jambs and slightly segmental arch of thesame section. The arch between the chapel and the south tran-sept is similar to those of the arcade above described,but is wider and nearly semicircular, having beenwidened at the widening of the south chapel. Thejambs have no moulded bases but stop abruptly onchamfered plinths.
