The little organ in question,sometimes ovoid, sometimes spherical, is about 8 millimeters in diameter; atother times it looks like two vesicles fused together with a slight constrictionbetween them, in which lie the vessels and some of the tissue of the length of the pedicle varies from nothing at all, when the vesicle is sessileon the broad ligament, to one 10 or 12 centimeters long; the average length isabout 3 centimeters, when the pedicle is about 2 millimeters in thickness andexpanded at the base. The long pedicles are often almost threadlike. The
