Large Blue (Maculinea arion) on clover flower. The butterfly species is included on the newest IUCN Red List of Endangered Species as Near Threatened and is also mentioned in both the Bern Convention, Annex IV of the EC Habitats Directive and in Britain under the Wildlife and Countryside Act. It was recently down-graded from Vulnerable globally on the IUCN Red List. Photographed in Denmark.
