An amputee dog runs using his prosthetic legs at the "Milagros Caninos" dog sanctuary in Xochimilco, Mexico City
An amputee dog runs using his prosthetic legs at the "Milagros Caninos," or Canine Miracles dog sanctuary in Xochimilco, Mexico City, January 25, 2013. This dog named Pay de Limon, which means Lemon Pie, was tortured and mutilated in Mexico and left for dead by Mexican drug traffickers who were practicing techniques for torture and amputations on dogs. He was later found in a garbage bin and rescued. The Canine Miracles (Milagros Caninos) sanctuary for abused and/or abandoned dogs gives shelter to abandoned dogs with a wide range of health challenges: old age, cancer, blindness, deafness, paralysis caused being run over by a car, forced to fight other dogs, tortured, raped, or drugged.
