And, true enough, there was a balloon sailingover the wood and coming toward the once all was excitement, for a balloon wasa rare sight to the boys. As it approached, theoccupants of the basket dropped a long rope,shouting to them to catch hold and make it fastto a post. They wished to come down. Theboys ran eagerly for the rope ; but the balloonwas going too fast, and they were unable tohold it. Take a turn around that post,called one of the men from above. But beforethe eager boys, tugging with all their might,could do as they were asked, a sudden gustlifted the balloon, and they, carried off theirfeet, were dragged along, their toes barelytouching the ground. Let go, let go! shouted the men, alarmedlest the boys should be hurt. The boys, nowsomewhat frightened, let the rope slide
