Waterfall surrounded by fall colors

Glacier National Park was first inhabited by Native Americans but was established as a park on May 11, 1910. Many historic hotels and chalets were built, many of which are listed as National Historic Landmarks. By 1932, work was completed on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, which was designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
