Fauntleroy and Smith are carrying dummy rounds designed to simulate the size, shape and weight of real munitions. Fauntleroy is carrying a simulated 120mm Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot with Tracer-point round, or APFSDS-T round; and Smith is carrying a simulated 120mm high explosive anti tank round, or HEAT round. The dummy rounds had to stay with the crew teams as the raced around the motorpool to different stations where they had to do different physical exercises. This race was just one part of a 13-event, three-day competition, designed to bolster Esprit de Corps, as well as help the Cyclones prepare for the gunnery they have coming up in the fall.
