Again we change cars, this time for an electric roadwhich winds back and forth up the face of the mountain,around the edge of precipices, with canyons below andaround, and with incomparable vistas through forests ofoak and pine of the far-away regions of the plain. Welook down upon the tops of mountain ranges and intogreat valleys — La Caiiada and SanFernando lie beneath. We passthrough granite cuts, over circularbridges, winding and climbing as I ibelieve no mountain road ever woundand climbed before, and finally come iupon a lovely sylvan nook amid thepine trees where a rural inn is set inthe midst of the forest.
