The species on -which this genus was founded is a somewhat small bird. The bill is hooked at the tip, slender in form, and about two-thirds the length of the tarsus. It possesses short but numerous rictal bristles. The wing is rounded, the fourth and fifth primaries longest and equal, the third intermediate between the seventh and eighth. The tail, which is proportionately long, ia rounded at the tip and graduated, the outer feather on each side about three-fourths the length of the middle ones.
