JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- A sign at the entrance to Kraft Hand Grenade Range makes visitors aware that it is named in honor of PVT George J. Kraft, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 196th Infantry Regiment, who gave his life in Operation: Warm Wind, Nov. 15, 1952. Soldiers of the 545th Military Police Company run through stations at Kraft Hand Grenade Range on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. The Soldiers were refreshing their skills with employing practice hand grenades in various scenarios at multiple simulated targets before throwing live grenades.
