Biscari aqueduct in Adrano country, Sicily
The aqueduct Biscari is called by Adrano "Bridge Biscari". Built about 1 km from the country's Mendolito, conveys in a closed conduit waters of the springs of the "Favare" at "Santa Domenica" and, through the district "of Carrubba" and of other lands, the channels it to the fief of the district "Aragon" or "Aragon". Information taken from the "Dictionary topography of Sicily" (Friend, 1865), cited as the district Aragon was "Casale once existing in the territory said today vulgarly of Aragon, and between Centorbi Adernò, with a tower. Appartenevasi in 1408 to John Eschisano, as shown by the census of King Martin; Perollo in Modica in 1479, who sold it to the Artale Mincio, whence came to John Paterno, and today for straight of his fathers to Ignazio Paternò Castello Biscari. " In it, "There was a spring of water and stinking blackish zolfurea." You can still see the buildings and the ruins of the farm located in the middle of the Plain of Aragon, adjacent to the road. The aqueduct crosses the river Simeto in "Step of Carob", in the district "Cimino", in the territory between the towns of Adrano and Centuripe.
