Then, of course, Ihave studied what other ornithologists have writ-ten about this wonderful subject of bird-migra-tion. From what I have learned from them andfrom the birds themselves, I propose now to actas the birds historian. I shall try to tell you how they prepare for thejourney; how they find their way; when
