Teloekbetung Airport The airport in the vicinity of Telok Betung (Sumatra), was built by the Dutch before the invasion of the Japs. It was then taken into use by the Japanese and expanded. A few days after the occupation of Telok Betung, the first Dutch aircraft - a Dakota of the Marine Aviation Service - landed at the newly acquired airport. The aircraft made an excellent landing and brought a number of civilians for Telok Betong.
