Spider monkeys or "monos aranas" are New World monkeys of the family Atelidae, subfamily Atelinae. Found in tropical forests from southern Mexico to Brazil, spider monkeys belong to the genus Ateles. They have black bodies and yellowish white faces and are very expressive.
