It is hardlyconceivable that the multiple hitmorrhages should be caused by any throm-bosis, embolism, or aiteritis ; they must presumably have been due to asudden engorgement of the veins due to asphyxia, such as takes place in afit in consecjuence of spasm of the respiratory muscles.
