Carbon rationing. Conceptual artwork of a personal carbon ration book. The introduction of a system of personal carbon rationing has been suggested as a way for the UK to reduce its carbon emissions. In such a system, an individual would be allocated an annual ration, or quota, to cover the energy they use at home and in personal travel. The system would be mandatory and individuals would be allowed to trade their rations with other individuals.
