A ship’s mast World War One memorial to the WW I era cruiser USS Minneapolis at Lake Bde Maka Ska in Uptown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The memorial was dedicated in 1930 after the cruiser’s 1921 decommissioning. The mast came from the cruiser USS Minneapolis which served as an escort for supply ships during the Great War, but which never saw any combat action. The first USS Minneapolis (C-13/CA-17) was a United States Navy Columbia-class protected cruiser.
