A fine percussion rifle, H. Hellfritsch, Nuremberg, circa 1840. Octagonal rifled barrel in 9 mm calibre with a barrel rib on the bottom, dovetailed front sight, and adjustable rear sight. Signed in gold, "H. HELLFRITSCH NÜRNBERG" on the breech along with the inscription "GUSS STAHL" (cast steel) in silver. Engraved tang with an aperture sight. Finely cut percussion lock with gold-inlaid wildlife on both lock plate and side plate. Double set triggers.
