MacDonald ^ THE ball given by the employees of the jNIotion PictureSales and Distributing Co., on Saturday night, Octo-ber 14th, was, to cay the very least of it, a grand was one round of pleasure from start to finish, a round ofpleasure in which some three or four hundred people par-ticipated. Arrived at the entrance to the ballroom I stood dazzled forthe moment by the bright lights and the gayety of the of the many boxes surrounding the room was occu-pied by the different manufacturers and their box was identified by a pennant bearing the name ofthe manufacturer occupying the box, and which formed apart of the decoration of the exterior of it. Never have I seen a bevy of more beautiful women than. upon the screen, the name of each individual subject wasshouted from different parts of the ball room, followed byloud applause. It was indeed a gala night for the Independ-ents. A night when they were alt thrown together in friendlycommunication, forgetting their troubles of the moving pic-ture plant, making merry together. Everyone seemed ingood humor. The management had done everything to makethe guests enjoy themselves—everything was done that oughtto have been done—and nothing apparently had been leftundone.
