Miniature of a manuscript offered by Talbot and Margaret of Anjou, 15th century (1882-1884). Margaret of Anjou was Queen Consort of King Henry VI of England. She was a leader of the Lancastrian faction in the Wars of the Roses. John Talbot, 1st Earl of Shrewsbury was an important English military commander of the Hundred Years War and Constable of France. He presented Margaret with a Book of Romance, known as the Shrewsbury Book, in 1445 upon the occasion of her marriage to Henry.
