In 1789 he received and accepted a call toNew Holland, Lancaster Co., Pa., where he continuedvery laboriously engaged until 1795, when he tookcharge of the Lutheran interests in Harrisburg andthe neighborhood. He was the first pastor after theseparation of the Lutheran from the Reformed con-gregation. Here he remained seven years, and al-though his duties were laborious, his ministry was asuccessful one.
