Churchill made eleven visits to La Pausa, where many of his paintings were done .. Originally the house was built by Coco Chanel in the early 1930's then acquired by Churchill's friend and foreign rights publisher, Emery 1953. Churchill spent a total of 54 weeks at La Pausa over a period of three and a half years
