A parasitic nematode, or roundworm, on the surface of a mackerel liver. The mackerel, Scomber scombrus, was caught beach fishing on Chesil beach in Dorset England UK. The worms can potentially cause illness in humans if ingested alive so correct preparation of fish is recommended either through correct cooking or freezing at the right temperature.
