Widmer, of Highland, III., re- ports that he is putting up a new carnation house and is rebuilding some of the older ones. The Foley Green- house Mfg. Co., Chicago, furnished the material for the new house. Mr. Wid- mer's surplus stock is consigned to this market. George Schmidt, until recently rose grower for Werner Bros., has taken a position with John T. Milliken, at Crescent, Mo., where he will have charge of the big rose houses. Quite a lot of new glass has recently been added to this place and was put up by the Lord & Burnham Co. Mrs. Eug%ne Michel, with her fam- ily, of RivertoB, !N. J;, is visiting Mr. Michel's father at South Kirk- wood. Her husband, Eugene Michel, is with Henry Dreer, Inc. Both are well known here, being formei* resi- dents of this city.
