(See Fig. 459.) in position. Imagine my surprise to find by this picture that the hookwas not anywhere near where I had thought I put it. Instead of beingwell up under the mesial prominence, it was merely caught under thepoint of the tooth, and, of course, it slipped off shortly after the patientleft the office. Upon her return a hook ^ of an inch longer was fittedin place, and this time, with a radiograph as a guide, there was no mis-take about its placement.
