The labia majora, the ana-logue of the scrotum in themale, consist of two thick folds \of integument extending forabout 7^ cm. ( in.) fromthe symphysis pubis above totheir junction below—\}:iQposte-rior commissure, or fourchet—about 2^ cm. (i in.) in front ofthe anus. In structure they arecomposed of adipose tissue,blood-vessels, and nerves, withan internal mucous and an exter-nal cutaneous surface, the latterbeing clothed with short, crisphairs. Bartholiids glands, or theglands of Duverney or of Hu-guier, one on either side, areimbedded in the lower third ofthe labia majora. The rimapudenda?, the fissure separatingthe labia.
