Broadcast the seed in the seed-bed prepared, sowing tlie early varieties from May 15th to July 1st; medium early varieties May 20th to July 5th; and late varieties any time June 25th to Aug. 25th inclusive. When the plants are 40 days old, they are ready for the field. Transplant to 15 inches apart in rows 30 to 36 inches apart. Do not leave plants in the hot-bed over 45 days as the stems become hard and poor results follow. Keep the plants vigorous and growing.
