The doorspaces, at the center of the side walls, were closed by aj>anel identical with the remainder of the construction, soas to preserve the general appearance of the original boxcar. Doors have been cut in the same side walls near theends, in addition to which there is a vestibuled communica-tion between the two cars, and there is but one sliding doorinstead of two. The vestibuled communication at one end of the maincar connects it to the annex, to which further referencewill be made later. Two sliding doors of the same tyjie asthose used on the French cars, where it is possible to pass. Interior of Instruction Car -Model Railway Raised to Ceiling PeTables as Shown from one to another, serve to close the openings to thevestibule. The sheathing of the inner walls is of matclied pine. The window openings in each of the side walls haveframes of quartered oak, measuring 215-^ in. by 15J-4 are glazed with an opening of 2\^i in. by 10 fifteen window openings are placed in five groups,each of which is set in a moveable frame opening towardsthe interior and fastened by a latch. The total window area is about 45 sq. ft., or about one-quarter of the floor space. The electric lighting of the car is effected by two dis-tinct lines with separate apparatus; on one line there is avoltage of 110 and on the other one of 24.
