Commencing on the right of the doorway, leading into Gallery VIII.{see Flan), we find the first of seven works by N. Poussin—one of theearly masters of the French school. This picture (No. 62, sketchedabove) is considered one of Poussins masterpieces; it was purchasedfor ;^2 5oo.
