Kecak fire dance Bali Indonesia

Kecak is a Balinese dance featuring no musical accompaniment. Rhythm is provided by a chanting 50 person male chorus who gather in a circle around a flame within which the performance takes place. The sound of the chanting provides the name 'Ke-chak'. The story for Kecak is taken from the Ramayana. Prince Rama goes hunting for a golden deer and his beautiful wife is kidnapped by the evil Rawana.
