Seeds may be sown very early in the spring in rows 18 inches apart, and as soon as seedlings are 3 to 4 inches tall they should be thinned out to stand 3 to 4 inches apart in - the row. Several applications of a complete fertilizer or wood ashes scattered on both sides of the row and hoed into the soil will benefit the developing roots immensely. Pull when tops begin to die down, cure and sell, or store in a cool, dry place. For sets, select a clean sandy soil of medium fertility, prepare it well in earlj- spring, and at once sow seed in drills a foot apart, using 40 to Zwiebel, Ger. .-â 5*
