Oars raised in salute as the Royal Barge bearing King George V and the Royal family makes its way down the regatta course on July 6th 1912 at Henley-on-Thames, a town on the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England. It was the only occasion that the king attended Henley Royal Regatta, even though it became "Royal" in 1851, when Prince Albert became patron of the regatta.
