UNITED STATES - September 22, 2024: Leaves are starting to change color in the warm afternoon light along Beaverdam Creek near Philomont. The autumn equinox was yesterday. The Astronomical Autumn on the 22nd this year, happens twice a year, in March and in September, and is a result of Earth's spinning on an axis that is tilted degrees from the plane of its orbit.
