Peyton Daugherty, Ankeny High School junior, receives the Semper Fidelis All American Award at a high school softball game in Ankeny, Iowa May 24. Maj. Brian Blaine, commanding officer of Recruiting Station Des Moines, presents the award earned by fewer than 100 high school juniors across the country. Peyton was selected for not only her athletic performance but for outstanding character, academic excellence, and community leadership that reflects the Marine Corps’ values of honor, courage, and commitment.
