The Transitional Cathedral in Christchurch, New Zealand, popularly referred to as the 'Cardboard Cathedral', a temporary replacement for the original Anglican cathedral damaged in the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. It stands on the site of St John the Baptist Church, will last 50 years, and will become a parish church when the main cathedral is replaced. It was designed by Shigeru Ban.
