This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Medusa fossae. Mars Express satellite image of the Medusa fossae (centre), a deep trench of unknown origin located on Mars near the Tharsis and Elysium volcanic areas. Further analyses through radar imaging have suggested that the region may contain deep layers of glacier-like ice deposits in similar amounts to those on Mars' polar ice caps. Data for this image were obtained by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on ESA's Mars Express.
